The porch. To many, it is also known as the verandah. And to many others these days, they are calling it the stoop. So, the screened in porch could now also be referred to as the screened in verandah too if you like. Anyhow, the purpose for having a screened in porch in the first place is so that you can enjoy it all year round. You can enjoy your screened in porch, or verandah, throughout all four seasons of the year.
Probably the best time of the year for enjoying your porch is going to be throughout the summer months. The weather is always warm and pleasant, and during certain times of the day you can just as easily roll up the screen in order to let in a little extra sunlight as well as letting the breeze draft across. Of course, by the time the evening comes around, there is no further need for the screen. But by the time you go back inside, you will remember to draw the screen back down again.
Because overnight, even at the height of summer, there could be an accumulation of dew. It all depends on the climate in your state, one would guess. But having said that, it would probably still be a good idea to keep your screen down whilst you are closeted indoors for the night. This shutting down should provide you with a form of security. Closure. But it also helps to keep everything clean and tidy. No alien creatures creeping up onto the verandah from the garden.
At least that is the general idea. More thought now has to be given to what could be alarmingly referred to as extreme weather events, and the screen would certainly help for that.
